Let’s answer your QUESTIONS

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is built on a simple but powerful idea: the body has an innate ability to heal and regulate itself. We use gentle soft tissue, movement

What can I expect on my first visit?

After signing the appropriate consent forms your practitioner will take a full case history which includes your medical history. Please bring a list of any medication you may be taking. You will receive treatment in your first session unless it is unsafe to do so in which case we will signpost you to the appropriate service.

What should I wear?

Loose fitting clothes such as a t-shirt, shorts, leggings is very useful. In the initial consultation we need to make a thorough assessment of your spine and overall posture and it’s useful if you could dress down to your underwear, if you’re comfortable with that. Please do not wear sports bras which cover the spine or most of the mid back.

Is osteopathy right for me?

Osteopathy is right for most people. We determine whether osteopathy is the right for you during your initial consultation and continue to monitor your healing progress. If your needs change we will refer you to the appropriate healthcare provider.

Is there parking and disabled access?

There is one disabled parking bay in front of the clinic and acess to the clinic is step free. Our patients have access to free parking less than a minute’s walk from the clinic. Please remember to validate your parking when you enter the clinic. There’s step free access to all clinic rooms with wide doorways to accommodate wheelchairs.

How many sessions do I need?

This varies depending on the nature of your problem, how long it has been present, and how your body responds. Some people notice improvement within a few sessions, while longer-standing issues may take more time.
